Chicago’s Most Active Foam-Fighting Organization
STORMS is a casual alternative to LARPing. We play Capture-The-Flag and King-of-the-Hill type games, but with foam swords and shields. No characters, no costumes, just some laid-back foam-fighting in a gorgeous neighborhood park.
Rules are simple and lightweight so as to be beginner friendly, but with enough variety to allow for tons of different fighting styles. There are swords, shields, throwing axes, shurikens, pole-arms, javelins, boulders, and unique abilities for each of eight classes.
Player classes range from “I just wanna hit stuff” like Barbarians, Fighters, and Monks; to “Learning a few rules wouldn’t kill me” like Rogue and Bard; to “I did all the work on group projects in high school and now I deserve superpowers” like Wizards, Clerics, and Druids. Players earn credits for participation and can advance through five levels of each class.
STORMS meets most Sundays from April to October on the North Side of Chicago near Montrose and Western. Please contact us for event details.
